PEACH ORCHARDS IN TEXAS HILL COUNTRY
We are shy of some much-needed chill hours. As of 02/9/24 we have about 600 chill hours and need, at least, a hundred more hours under 45 degrees F to set a good crop of peaches all season long. The small amounts of moisture here in February are welcomed. Some low-chill varieties have buds swelling, meaning they got sufficient chill.
As usual, we won't fully know what the crop looks like until we get past that Easter full moon/mid-April threshold.
Strawberries are blooming and about 30 days to the first harvest!
